40th Annual Lithuanian Festival

The Lithuanian Festival Committee of Maryland is pleased to announce the 40th Annual Lithuanian Festival, to be held at the Catonsville Armory, 130 Mellor Avenue, Catonsville, Maryland. The dates are Saturday and Sunday, May 12TH and 13TH from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. both days. 

 This festival is considered by many as...“The best little ethnic festival in Maryland.” This year’s theme is Let’s Polka! 

 Bring the family, grand children and friends, give them a taste of the old country. We have a very exciting program planed this year to celebrate our 40th year. Showcased will be our own local ethnic dance groups, Malunas - Folk Dance Ensemble of Baltimore in authentic Lithuanian costumes with lively traditional music, live musical entertainment will be performed by local and national talent. There will be jewelry, arts and crafts of all kinds for sales. A fascinating exhibit of Lithuanian Militaria will be presented with maps, histories, uniforms, insignias, photos, medals, and 17th Century armor. We’ll be raffling off tickets to the 14th Lithuanian National Folk Dance Festival in Boston, and much, much more!

 Of course, there will be plenty of delicious Lithuanian food, from Desra (Lithuanian sausage), Kaldunai, Chilled Beet Soup, Kopustai (sauerkraut), delightful tortes and pastries. Liquid refreshments featured include several imported Lithuanian beers, soft drinks and our popular drink Viryta (Lithuanian honey liqueur) that will bring a real warmth to the celebration on this fine Mother’s Day weekend. 

 Admission is $4.00 per person, with children under 12 Free. Take yourself, and the whole family out to a most unique event! Discover the sights, sounds and tastes of Lithuania at the 40th Annual Lithuanian Festival, May 12-13, 2012, at the Catonsville Armory. The Armory is handicap accessible and there’s plenty of free parking.
