Celebrate Women's HerStory Month at Benjamin Banneker historical Park & Museum

Second annual Women's HerStory Month celebration. This year's program will focus on the many roles African American women played during the Civil War. Dr. Rebecca Lee Davis Crumple, Elizabeth Keckley, Susie King Taylor, Hallie Quinn Brown, Frances Anne Rollin, and a Nameless Faceless Woman of the Civil War will reveal to the audience some of women's bold and daring achievements during this period. The Female Re-Enactors of Distinction are from the Civil War Museum (Washington, DC) and will delight and engulf the audience with adventurous wartime stories. The Ladies will be escorted by Maj. Martin R. Delany (first African American field officer in the US Army during the American Civil War). While at the museum, view the Benjamin Banneker exhibit, tour the log cabin (weather permitting), and end your afternoon with light refreshments.

This Family Friendly event is FREE. Visit us at our website, on Facebook or Twitter.
