Firefighters Lift Injured Man Out of Pit
The incident occurred Wednesday morning on Baltimore National Pike.

CATONSVILLE, MD — A crew from the Baltimore County Fire Department used a rescue basket Wednesday morning to pull an unidentified man out of a pit, the fire department announced.
Firefighters responded to the scene at about 8:17 a.m. in the 6300 block of Baltimore National Pike (U.S. 40). When they arrived, they found the man had fallen into a small pit and was unable to remove himself due to an injury, the department said in a statement.
The name of the accident victim was not released.

The fire crew placed the man in the rescue basket, and then hoisted it out of the trench with a ladder truck.
The man was taken to a local hospital, where he was treated for a minor injury, the fire department said.
