BGE Shuts Off Gas After Leak: Baltimore County Fire Officials
After a gas leak near Catonsville Wednesday night, officials said residents were allowed to return to their homes.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Residents were allowed to return to their homes Wednesday night in southwest Baltimore County after a gas leak, according to the Baltimore County Fire Department. The incident unfolded near the Westview shopping center off Route 40.
Multiple homes were evacuated in the 5900 block of Moorehead Road, the Baltimore County Fire Company reported after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 19.
Crews were on location handling the gas leak, authorities said.

By 10:20 p.m., officials reported displaced residents were back in their homes, and BGE had shut off the gas line.
