  1. The Y in Catonsville is looking for year-round lifeguards to keep guests safe in the pool and is offering the necessary training courses to apply for the job. Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 9, Sertified will be running American Red Cross Lifeguarding training courses, which include seven hours of self-paced online learning and 21 hours of in-person skills training. Anyone ages 15 and up can register for classes online at sertified.me, and lifeguarding jobs at The Y will be available to eligible candidates upon successful completion of training.   2. Help the Catonsville community fill a moving truck with household items for local families in need! Today (Nov. 6) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine, a moving truck will be parked at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 1010 Frederick Road to collect non-perishable food items, laundry detergent, toiletries, and household cleaning supplies. All donations will be delivered to Catonsville Emergency Assistance and the food pantry at Grace AME Church. (Catonsville Patch)
