Looking for the best place to celebrate the 4th of July? Well, of course you need to come to Catonsville. But try to stop by Arbutus too. There's lots happening around town. Here's a brief guide to some of the day's events.
While it is difficult to find specific information online, Arbutus has a pretty happening Fourth of July scene. Start the day with a run at the Firecracker 10K. This great race is put on by the Kendrick family, who also organizes a great town parade. Here’s a brief schedule:
- 8am: Firecracker 10K starts at Arbutus Middle School on Shelbourne Rd
- 9am: Soapbox derby at Elm Rd and Oakland Rd
- 12:30pm: Parade begins at 12:30pm and runs down Tom Day Blvd to the Save-a-Lot at the end of East Drive. (you still can make the Catonsville parade at 3pm too!)
- 8:30am: Group bike ride from Atwater's Bakery to Ft. McHenry
- 3pm: Catonsville Parade along Frederick Rd
- 9pm: Fireworks at Catonsville High School

Hope to see you at the Firecracker and/or the Cville parade!
