Here are the top stories in Catonsville today:

  1. The latest available local unemployment figures are in and they show an improved rate since October in the Catonsville area. The rate continues to be lower than it was after the pandemic first struck. In Baltimore County, the unemployment rate was 4.4 percent in November, which is down from 4.9 percent in October.   2. Baltimore County police have identified the woman shot and killed at a shopping center on Catonsville's Route 40 on Thursday afternoon. The victim has been identified as Diamond Trueheart, a 26-year-old who was found fatally shot in the parking lot of Catonsville Plaza Shopping Center. According to detectives, they're looking into whether the incident was targeted. (Fox Baltimore)
  3. Starting Monday, Baltimore County is hosting a series of COVID-19 test kit distribution events over the next week to expand access to testing as home kits become scarce. At least two Catonsville locations will be held, including the Community College of Baltimore County and the Catonsville Branch of the Baltimore County Public Library. (CBS Baltimore)
