The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Catonsville.

Happy Friday, people of Catonsville! Let's start today off on an informed note, shall we? Here are the most important things happening today in town.
First, today's weather:
Partly sunny; breezy, cooler. High: 51 Low: 37.
Here are the top stories today in Catonsville:
- George Dunn, an 11-year head wrestling coach at Lansdowne High, is joining Catonville High School as the new winter wrestling coach — and he has big expectations for the Comets. Dunn previously worked as Catonville High's JV wrestling coach for two years before going to Lansdowne. The Comets open their season on Dec. 7 at Western Tech in a tri-meet with defending county champions Sparrows Point, which Dunn believes will be "a really good litmus test" to see where the team is. - Governor Larry Hogan announced earlier this week that the Maryland Historical Trust has awarded $3 million in tax credit funds to turn the historic Wilkins Rogers Mill (formerly the Ellicott Brothers' Grist Mill) into a mixed-use property. The conversion of the Oella, Maryland site, which sits near Catonsville on the banks of the Patapsco River, is expected to cost a total of $35 million. A news release from Governor Hogan's office indicated that the new property would include residential apartments and amenities, retail spaces, a restaurant, and a museum dedicated to "the history of the site and the importance of flour production in the surrounding region." - This week, the Baltimore County Department Public Works and Transportation (DPWT) officials announced that the separate collection of yard materials for County residents with "Y" days on their collection schedules will end during the first two weeks of December and resume in April 2022. The date of the last 2021 "Y" day varies among County collection schedules, and residents should refer to their particular schedule for details. After your last "Y" day occurs, yard materials can be placed out with the trash on a scheduled trash collection day. (Press Release Desk)
