Pedestrian Killed On I-695 Near Route 40 In Catonsville: Police

Police ask anyone who was in the area of I-695 at Baltimore National Pike shortly after 2:30 a.m Saturday to come forward.

CATONSVILLE, MD — A pedestrian was killed on Interstate 695 early Saturday morning in the area of Baltimore National Pike, according to Maryland State Police.

The pedestrian, who has not been publicly identified, was in the travel portion of the road at 2:38 a.m. when he was hit by a Western Star tractor trailer on the inner loop of I-695, police reported.

Baltimore County fire and EMS pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene, and an autopsy is pending.

The driver of the tractor trailer has been cooperating with authorities, who are asking any other witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Those who were in the area of I-695 at Baltimore National Pike/Route 40 or who may have seen a pedestrian there around 2:38 a.m. is asked to call the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack at 410-780-2700.
