Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:

  1. Police are investigating a shooting incident in Catonsville that left one man dead. The shooting took place on Monday evening in the 4400 block of Wilkens Avenue. There, they found 39-year-old Alquamaar Royal, who had been shot in the upper body. Royal was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is ongoing. (CBS Baltimore)
  2. Forty students from Baltimore County Public schools are headed to the Maryland Music Educators Association's 2023 All-State Ensemble. Of the 40, 16 come from Perry Hall High School. This gives it the most significant number of students of any school in the whole county. Catonsville, Dulaney, George Washington Carver Center for Arts and Technology, Hereford, Patapsco, Perry Hall, and Pikesville are among the schools that will represent Baltimore County. (Patch)
  3. An employee of the Baltimore County Public Schools has been arrested and charged with child pornography. Craig Clontz, 49, is charged with five counts of possession of child pornography. Clotz is currently being held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center. So far detectives do not believe any BCPS students appear in the images. (Press Release Desk )
