Here are the top 3 stories in Catonsville today:

  1. For the first time in 15 years, Baltimore County State's Attorney Scott Shellenberger will have a challenger in the Democratic primary race: lawyer Robbie Leonard. Leonard, who currently serves as the Secretary of the Maryland Democratic Party, says Baltimore County is "moving in the wrong direction," pointing to a record-breaking number of homicides in 2021. If elected, Leonard promises to handle sex crimes in a "stronger manner" and not prosecute lower-level marijuana crimes. Shellenberger maintains the State's Attorney office "needs to be run by someone that's been here," and says he has "a lot left to give." (FOX Baltimore)
  2. Baltimore County Police are asking the public for any information on the Feb. 26, 2021 stabbing and death of Rosario "Tony" Valenti. Police say there were patrons in front of Papas Smokehouse, located at 2715 North Point Blvd. in nearby Dundalk, during the attack who left after the murder but before police arrived. Contact the Baltimore County Homicide Unit or Metro Crime Stoppers with any information. (Press Release Desk)
  3. On Saturday, Feb. 5, Catonsville native Henry Tolker scored his first two collegiate goals for the Navy men's lacrosse team at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. After a close game, Mount St. Mary's defeated Navy, 11 to 9. (NavySports.com)
