Here are the top stories in Catonsville today:

  1. Yesterday, a public hearing was held about Baltimore County's redistricting plan, which has been opposed by civil rights groups for ensuring six out of seven county districts have a majority white population, with the exception being District 4. The Baltimore County NAACP and ACLU of Maryland have suggested an additional majority-Black district could be created in the southwestern 1st District, which currently includes Catonsville, by shifting boundaries between the 1st and 4th Districts.   2. The Children's Home in Catonsville is hosting a job fair today from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 205 Bloomsbury Avenue. The organization focuses on innovative programs and services that assist at-risk youth and is seeking passionate, caring individuals who want to make a difference in the lives of local children. The Children's Home will be hosting on-site interviews for a variety of full- and part-time positions, including a Case Manager, Cook, Kitchen Utility Worker, Maintenance Staff, and Registered Nurse / LPN, and will hire qualified applicants on the spot.
