Rails to Trails is a Catonsville Gem

Catonsville Rails to Trails is a community non-profit organization in Catonsville, Maryland, that converts abandoned railway and streetcar lines into safe, accessible multi-use paths for walking, jogging, and cycling.

The 2.2-mile Short Line Railroad Trail features a flat, unpaved crusher-run surface that winds through local neighborhoods and near Spring Grove State Hospital.

The #8 Streetcar Path is a short 1/3-mile paved and ADA-accessible trail. It is located off Frederick Road and is ideal for families and casual walks.

The Trolley Line #9 Trail is 1.25-mile scenic boardwalk and paved path. It has a steady incline connecting Catonsville, Oella, and Ellicott City.
