Here are the top 3 stories today in Catonsville:

  1. The Performing Arts Department Chair at Catonsville High School will be a guest conductor at a live District Band Festival in Warren County this weekend. Christopher Gnagey is not only the department chair, but he also serves as director of the High School Board for the Baltimore County Public Schools Summer Music Camp. The concert will be on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the Warren Area High School Auditorium. (Times Observer)
  2. A recently recorded song by a Baltimore County band highlights the history of Catonsville. Musician Joe DeFilippo was an American history teacher for Baltimore County Public Schools for over 40 years and loves to combine his passion for history with music. DeFilippo is in the R.J. Phillips Band, and their song is based on the book titled "It all started on Winters Lane: A history of the Black community in Catonsville, Maryland," written by Baltimore author Louis Diggs. (Catonsville Patch)
  3. More winter weather is hitting Central Maryland, and if you're heading through Cecil, Anne Arundel, or Southeast Harford Counties this weekend, you may want to leave lots of extra travel time. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 4 p.m. today through 1 p.m. tomorrow for these counties. Catonsville residents can expect snowfall beginning in the afternoon and extending into the evening. (Catonsville Patch)
