The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Catonsville.

Morning, Catonsville! It's Wednesday, so let's get you started with everything you need to know going on today in town.
First, today's weather:
Mostly sunny and not as cool. High: 51 Low: 33.
Here are the top 3 stories in Catonsville today:
- On Tuesday afternoon, Baltimore County police received a report about a student being shot outside of Catonsville High School. The shooting allegedly took place around 3 p.m., about 45 minutes after dismissal. Some members of CHS sports teams told news outlets they had heard gunshots and "saw a vehicle speed away from the scene." The student was reportedly taken to a nearby trauma center after the shooting. In a statement, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olzewski Jr. said he would ensure the police department "has every tool to bring the perpetrator to justice" and that students and educators have support. - After about a week after its abrupt closure, Catonsville's 818 Market told its customers and community that it will be reopening under new ownership "soon" — but details on social media have been vague. The unique Frederick Road establishment, which includes a bar and restaurant, grocery store, deli, and bakery, was opened in 2020 after extensive renovations by co-owners Dan Zakai and Patrick Baldwin. In a Facebook post, the business said it has spent the last week working with local businesses to find new jobs for displaced staff and donating its leftover fresh produce and other food to Catonsville Emergency Assistance. Of the transition, the market wrote, "We're optimistic that we've found the right group to deliver the right experience for the community in which we all live." - A Catonsville High School counselor has been named one of Maryland's High School Counselors of the Year by the Maryland School Counselor Association (MSCA). Brian Stewart, who has been working with Baltimore County Public Schools since 2015, also serves as CHS's Counseling Department Chair. Because of his award, Stewart is now a finalist for the MSCA's overall School Counselor of the Year Award. (nottinghammd.com)
