Teen Charged As Adult In Catonsville Crime Spree
Police have identified the 16-year-old boy charged with setting a fire and other crimes in his neighborhood in the Catonsville area.

CATONSVILLE, MD — A Catonsville teen has been charged as an adult in a crime spree that put a school and neighbors on alert Thursday afternoon, according to police. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, court records show.
Daquane Antonio Ray, 16, of the 900 block of Bardswell Road in Catonsville, has been charged with eight offenses: three counts of first-degree assault; first-degree malicious burning; $1,000 in malicious destruction of property; two counts of theft from $100 to $1,500; and second-degree assault.
Police said Ray was was arrested Thursday after allegedly setting a fire in a home in the 900 block of Bardswell Road after 10:30 a.m.; chasing someone with a weapon; and trying to steal something from Johnnycake Elementary School.

Ray was arrested on Vanderwood Road after Johnnycake Elementary School officials notified authorities that a masked person walked into the school building in the 5900 block of Craigmont Road, then allegedly tried to steal property before staff followed him until police apprehended him in the area of Vanderwood Road.
