About Town: Yea? Nay? Complete Silence?

How has the column been doing? Are you a crazed, devoted fan yet?

Well, it's been a few weeks of two-a-day posts about, well, anything I can find. I've tried to mix it up, get some unique stuff on here to start a discussion. That being the goal, we've really only had a few posts that have gotten people posting. What can be done differently in the "About Town" column?

I've considered several possibilities, but most of them involve (TASTEFUL) semi-nude photographs, a proposal repeatedly shot down by every editor I've ever had. One of these days, man. One of these days.

The other idea is just to start spewing incendiary hyper-partisan hackery and get people to comment just because they hate me so much. That's what's kept the conversation going at my family dinner table. We'll see.

But what else are you looking for? More newsy stuff? Less newsy stuff? Am I doing a perfect job?

Reston Patch "About Town" columnist Justine van Engan appears to write one post per day instead of two, but they're longer, funnier, and usually at least peripherally related to her children. Should my posts be longer? Should I include more personal reflection? Should I talk more about Justine van Engan's children?
