The JTCC School had 5 students inducted into the National Honor Society. The National Honor Society is a very prestigious club. National Honor Society members must be outstanding in service, leadership, character, as well as scholarship. A candidate must have a cumulative grade point average of 4.0 or higher.

Potential candidates fill out activity sheets, and then a select group of teachers (selected on a rotating basis) score the applicants based on service, leadership and character.

Five students were inducted this year. New members include: Alec Angradi, the Son of Doug and Sharon Angradi; James Scotty, the Son of Mike and Martha Scotty; Jade Woo, the Daughter of Benson and Cynthia Woo; Maria Adiaconitei , the Daughter of Constantine and Andrea Adiaconitei; and Spencer Bozsik, the son of Paul and Barbara Bozsik.

This year, the Students inducted into the National Honor Society are working on three service projects.

•A school-wide “Anti-Cyber Bullying” campaign as a school-wide project: The goals of the project include educating the school community about cyber-bullying, teaching fellow students about ways to prevent and stop cyber-bullying, and encouraging students to make a commitment to be proactive about working against cyber-bullying.•Letters of encouragement to children in hospitals: This project is being coordinated on a face-to-face basis with hospitals in students’ local communities, as well as via online groups that will collect letters for children in other hospitals.

•Members are working to collect strings, rackets, and other tennis equipment for re sale to a charitable organization and to use the money they earn to fund a scholarship for less fortunate kids
