
Secret Service Agent David Lazarus sees big needs for foster youth. That’s why he and his 10 siblings formetheLazarus Foundation eight years ago. Since then they have donated more than $100,000, helping foster youth with financial support, educational services, and mentoring.
Their latest fundraising effort is taking place August 13th in
Beltsville. The annual Lazarus Foundation Charity Golf Tournament features a shot gun start; a Jamaican-themed dinner; great prizes; award ceremony; and special guests, including John Blake, host of WHUR’s The Caribbean Experience, and Chelsey Rodgers, Miss DC USA 2008 and Miss DC International 2010.ds raised from this fun event will benefit foster youth by providing assistance and support to help them achieve academically and succeed. In the U.S. alone, nearly 25,000 youth a out of foster care every year, leavingthem with no support system and putting them at much greater risk of becoming impoverished, homeless, and/or imprisoned.
The tournament takesplace at Cross Creek Golf Club and starts at noon. Tickets cost $250. Tickets to the reception only are $75. Since the Lazarus family has deep roots in
