URS Federal Services, Inc. Establishes New Educational Alliance with University of Maryland University College

Employees and their families now have access to UMUC degree and certificate programs, as well as discounts on out-of-state tuition

Adelphi, Md. (Jan. 9, 2013) — University of Maryland University College (UMUC) announced today that it has signed an agreement with URS Federal Services, Inc.—a division of URS Corporation based in Germantown, Md.—to provide employees and their families access to UMUC degree and certificate programs.

“For 65 years, UMUC has focused on serving adult students by providing workforce-relevant coursework via modes of delivery that fit their busy lives,” said UMUC Acting Provost, Marie Cini. “We are pleased and proud to continue that tradition through this agreement with URS Federal Services, Inc.”

Under the agreement, URS Federal Services’ employees, spouses and dependents can take individual courses or enroll in any of UMUC’s 95 academic programs, most of which are available fully online. Students enrolling in UMUC's Undergraduate School may transfer credits and/or be awarded credit for prior learning, if eligible under UMUC's standard policies and procedures. Program participants who don't already qualify for UMUC's in-state tuition rates may also be eligible for a significant discount on out-of-state rates.
