
With the football play-offs in full swing, nachos, wings, dips and spreads are among the top picks for game day snacks. All are finger-lickin’ good, but sky high in grease, calories and fat. SHOPPERS’ registered Jennifer Shea Rawn MS, MPH, RD has put together a nacho recipe that will certainly be a crowd pleaser without the added Big Game calories.
BBQ Chicken Nachos

Ingredients
- ½ 9oz bag whole grain tortilla chips
- 1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 cups rotisserie chicken, shredded
- 2 tbsp bbq sauce
- 1 ½ cup reduced-fat shredded Mexican cheese
blend - ½ cup fresh salsa
- 2 tbsp of non-fat Greek yogurt
- 1 diced avocado (drizzled with lemon juice to
keep it from browning) OR ½ cup prepared guacamole - ½ cup cilantro, washed and chopped
- 3 scallions, washed and sliced
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place chips single layered on a baking dish. Top with cheese, black beans, and chicken drizzled with bbq sauce. Put into the oven for 7 minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove from oven. Add salsa, yogurt, avocado, cilantro and scallions. Serve and
enjoy.
