"Breaking Bad" Star RJ Mitte Lecture & Meet-and-Greet at UMD

Co-star of Emmy-winning AMC drama "Breaking Bad," RJ Mitte, will give a lecture at the University of Maryland Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the Stamp Student Union. This is free, non-ticketed event that is open the public.

In his lecture, entitled "Overcoming Adversity: Turning a Disadvantage to an Advantage," Mitte speaks about raising awareness about disabilities, equality, and bullying. After his lecture, the audience will have the opportunity to ask questions during a Q&A session. There will be an additional audience meet and greet after the lecture.

RJ Mitte co-starred on the Emmy-winning AMC drama, "Breaking Bad," as the son of the cancer-stricken high school science teacher turned drug manufacturer played by Bryan Cranston. Just as his character on the show, Walter White Jr., has cerebral palsy, so does Mitte. In 2014 Mitte will begin a recurring role on the Peabody Award-winning ABC Family drama, Switched at Birth, playing Campbell, a pre-med college student paralyzed by a snowboarding accident who works at the free clinic.
