College Park Gears Up for Earth Day Festival, Service Project

Since the very first Earth Day—April 22, 1970—environmental initiatives have been pushed to the forefront in communities across the country.
College Park is no different. On Saturday and Sunday, residents will gather to clean up a local stream and rally at for live music and speakers.

- Service Project: From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, residents will remove invasive species and trash from the Paint Branch Steam and trail near Cherry Hill Road. Volunteers can meet at the Cherry Hill Community Park , but first, sign up here.
- Two-Day Festival: A concert and film showing will take place from 4 until 9:30 p.m. on Saturday at Duvall Field on Rhode Island Avenue. The festival will continue from noon until 8 p.m. Sunday with speakers, live music, activities, craft vendors and local groups and organizations.
