Customers Claim Poor Service at Post Office, Unreliable Mail Delivery
City will request meeting with U.S. Postal Service representative to discuss issues.
The Mayor and Council will request a meeting with a U.S. Postal Service manager to discuss ongoing from north College Park residents about alleged unreliable mail delivery and poor customer service at the at Baltimore Avenue and Hollywood Road.
The council unanimously approved a letter at Tuesday’s meeting, detailing the complaints. The letter will be sent to the regional postmaster.

Here is a summary of the issues listed in the letter:
- misdirected mail;
- instances when outgoing mail remained in mailboxes for days without collection;
- lost outgoing mail or mail that was never received;
- outgoing mail that was dropped by the letter carrier and found in a neighbor’s yard;
- the council also approved at Tuesday’s meeting that an additional complaint would be added, prompted by an email to Councilman Patrick Wojahn (Dist. 1) earlier in the day. The resident said the post office failed to hold her mail as she requested when she went on vacation.
The letter also explains that residents complained that staff at the North College Park Post Office often ignore customer complaints and told them little could be done about their issues.

The letter suggests that changes should be made to the problem-reporting process.
