Garden Connect Tours

Summer Camp Group Activity

This summer, the Memorial Chapel is offering a unique interactive tour called Garden Connect for
young children between the ages of six to twelve. This tour provides the
opportunity to learn about the beautiful garden surrounding the Chapel, as well
as the Chapel itself, one of UMD’s iconic landmarks, which was built in 1952 as
a tribute to veterans both past and present.
The program focuses on the different components in the garden
(Large Oak, Reflecting Pool, and Labyrinth) as well as looks at the building of
the grand Chapel itself. The tour costs $35 for a group of up to 25 children ($1 for each extra child) and adults are admitted free with the group charge.

We
are happy to take bookings for anytime between now and late August. If
you have any questions, or would like to book a tour, don’t hesitate to contact Denise McHugh at 301-314-9893 or at dmchugh@umd.edu.
