Ke Chic Goes Passionately Pink for the Cure

The College Park boutique will hold a tailgate Saturday, and donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Every October, Lesley Sedgwick makes it a point to participate in a breast cancer fundraiser, like one of the many walks in the area.

But this year, the owner was a little too busy for that and decided to hold her own fundraiser.

Starting at noon Saturday, she will host a tailgate outside the College Park boutique, selling hot dogs and sodas, and all proceeds will go to the Susan G. Komen foundation, as part of the Passionately Pink for the Cure campaign.

In addition, 15 percent of sales at Ke Chic on Saturday will also support the cause.

"I have a boutique that's pink, so we decided to do a Passionately Pink campaign," Sedgwick said.

The fundraiser is fitting in two ways: not only is October Breast Cancer Awareness Month, but it's also homecoming for the Terps.

"Everyone else will be tailgating, so we might as well do it, too," Sedgwick said.
