MOM's Organic Market Expands by 40 Percent
Store celebrated renovations with weekend festivities.
Since MOM's Organic Market came to College Park about 20 years ago, it was never renovated, according to manager Bobo Ndiaye.
That is, until these last few months.
The store will now be able to offer more organic products because of increased space, and LED lighting and skylights were installed. The aisles are also now wide enough for three shopping carts, Ndiaye said.

He said that offices and restrooms were moved to a new warehouse behind the store, allowing for a 40 percent expansion of shopping area.
celebrated the upgrade to its store Friday through Sunday with free vendor samples, demonstrations, face painting and other children's activities.

For resident Katie Zafft, this was a big deal. When she and her husband moved to College Park two years ago, she quickly realized that MOM's was a cornerstone of the community.
"MOM's was kind of the first place that everyone else in the neighborhood went to," she said.
In the months leading up to the finished renovations, Zafft said shopping was a little chaotic, but it didn't seem to phase the employees.
"For some reason, everyone was still very nice," she said.
