UPDATE: Two Vehicles Struck Pedestrian in Hit-and-Run

Update, Sept. 19 4:51 p.m., : The pedestrian killed Sunday morning near the intersection of University Boulevard and Baltimore Avenue was struck by two vehicles that both fled, and not just a red Honda, according to a prepared statement from the Prince George's County Police Department.

These are the details according to the statement:

• At 3:25 a.m. Sunday, patrol officers responded to a call for a pedestrian struck.
• Upon arrival, officers found a 30-year-old male who appeared to be hit by a car. The man died on the scene.
• A red Honda traveling westbound on University Boulevard struck the man and incurred damage to its left side-view mirror.
• Investigators concluded that a second vehicle struck the pedestrian. Neither stopped.
• The investigation is still underway.

Update, 12:23 p.m.: Police continue to search for a red Honda following this morning's hit-and-run fatality on University Boulevard near Route 1 in College Park.

Debris collected at the scene indicates the vehicle's left door mirror may have sustained damage, police said.

The model and year of the vehicle are unknown.

Prince George's County Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call the public safety non-emergency dispatch phone number, 301-352-1200.

Original post, 8:15 a.m.: A man was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver on University Boulevard near Route 1 in College Park early Sunday, said Cpl. Erica Johnson, a spokesperson for Prince George's County Police.

Johnson said a passerby notified police between 3 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. The man died at the scene.

Police are looking for a Red Honda with extensive damage that fled the scene toward Adelphi. The model of the vehicle is unknown.
