Terrapin basketball team kicks off new season — with a new coach — at 8 p.m. Friday.
The five non-scholarship players for the Terrapin basketball team will see playing time this year, .
That would include 6-foot-9-inch Spencer Barks, a Poolesville native, who said it is a dream come true to play for Maryland and new basketball coach .
Barks was a two-time All Interstate Athletic Conference (IAC) selection averaging 11 points and 10 rebounds per game for St. Albans, where he played after starting high school at Bullis in Potomac.
