D.C. Blues Society Sponsors Fourth Annual College Park Blues Festival.

Ritchie Coliseum was the place to be Saturday evening to soak in some blues.

The D.C. Blues Society sponsored the fourth annual College Park Blues Festival, as a fundraiser to send an artist to the International Blues Challenge in Memphis.

Clarence "The Blues Man" Turner won the society's earlier this year for the chance to compete in the national contest, and for the opportunity to perform at the 2012 D.C. Blues Festival.

Saturday, Turner performed along with guitarist Tom Newman, the DCBS Band featuring songster Ayaba Bey, and Warner Williams, who was awarded this summer with a National Heritage Fellowship.

Craft vendors, food and drinks, and recognition of the veterans were also part of the celebration.
