Yes, People Really Are Still Talking About the Purple Line

It's apparently a done deal — how do you feel about it?

Much debate has been had over the plans to run a(nother) Metro line through College Park — though this one, the Purple Line, has taken a special place in people's grumblings because all signs point to it running straight through the university campus. The brouhaha over East Campus development apparently hasn't changed anything, but what do you think about the plan? Will it make life easier or just add another transportation complication to the area?

The computer renderings at the bottom of this post by Rethink College Park make it look terrifying — we'd lose at least 10 students a day if we had giant murderous machines rolling around in the road, though I know a lot of students who could save a lot of money commuting to the campus from the communities a new Metro line would connect.

What do you think?
