Columbia Man Identified In Fatal Weekend Shooting That Wounded 2nd Man: Howard Co. Police
An 18-year-old has been fatally shot and another man injured in a shooting that happened late Sunday night, Howard County Police say.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — An 18-year-old man has been fatally shot and a 20-year-old man injured in Columbia. A reward of up to $5,000 has been offered for information in the case.
At approximately 9:25 p.m. Sunday, Howard County police officers were called to the 7600 block of Woodpark Lane and found two victims who had been shot outside in the open stairwell of an apartment building. Both men were transported to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Jeremiah Isaiah Darden, 18, of Columbia, was pronounced dead overnight. The second victim, a 20-year-old man from Columbia, was treated and released, according to police.
Investigators do not yet have information about the suspect, but believe the shots were fired from a vehicle. Detectives are investigating to determine if the incident may not have been random.
