10 Columbia Companies Make Inc. 5000 List
Columbia is home to 10 of the fastest growing companies in the country, according to Inc.
COLUMBIA, MD ā Ten companies in Columbia made the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in America for 2018. A total of 111 companies in Maryland made the list, created by the business magazine Inc. each year.
To find the top 5000 fastest growing companies across the country, Inc. measured revenue growth from 2014 to 2017. Altogether the Inc. 5000 companies earned $206.2 billion in revenue last year.
Nine of the 10 companies in Columbia recognized by Inc. were related to software/information technology.

Topping the INC 5000 was SwanLeap in Madison, Wisconsin. The software company uses automated programs to determine the best way ā the fastest and cheapest ā for companies to ship products. It grew 75,661 percent in the past three years, earning $99 million in revenue in 2017.
Coming in second was PopSockets out of Boulder, Colorado, which makes cell phone stands and mounts. And the third fastest growing company was Home Chef based in Chicago, Illinois, which delivers ingredients and meal kits.
