15 Vehicles Broken Into In Columbia: Police

Police said that residences were burglarized, a Columbia woman was arrested and 15 vehicles were broken into recently in the area.

COLUMBIA, MD — The Howard County Police Department provided the following information about recent incidents in Columbia. In the several days, police said 15 vehicles were broken into along residential streets in Columbia, many during the overnight hours.

Two vehicles were broken into overnight in the 10100 block of Hyla Brook Road. A GPS and other items were stolen overnight between June 30 and July 1.

A vehicle was broken into in the 5000 block of Stoneboat Row at 3:02 a.m. on July 1. It was unclear whether anything had been taken.

Three vehicles were broken into in the 10200 block of Dottys Way overnight between June 29 and 30. It was unclear whether anything had been stolen.

Five vehicles were broken into in the 10200 block of Hickory Ridge Road overnight between June 29 and 30. Various items were reported stolen.

A laptop and computer accessories were stolen from a vehicle in the 6100 block of Wooded Run Drive between June 29 and 30.

Tags were stolen from a vehicle in the 8400 block of Greystone Lane overnight between June 29 and 30.

An iPod, change and a charger were stolen from a vehicle in the 9100 block of Brunners Run Court overnight between June 28 and 29.

An airbag was stolen from a vehicle in the 7000 block of Gentle Shade Road between June 28 and 29.

Residential Burglaries

A residence was burglarized in the 8800 block of Tamebird Court. A laptop, cell phone, tablet and ID were stolen after the suspect may have gotten in through an unlocked rear sliding glass door between 5:45 and 11:30 p.m. on June 30.

A 45-year-old Columbia woman was charged with burglary and destruction of property. She was found after police responded to a report of a person inside a vacant home without permission in the 7800 block of Harriet Tubman Lane at 8:02 a.m. on June 29. The woman was found and arrested. Nothing was taken.

A home in the 5800 block of Morningbird Lane was burglarized between June 7 and 30. The suspect(s) got in through a slider in the basement. Nothing was reported stolen.
