2 Brushfires Break Out In Columbia, Officials Issue Reminder
The Howard County Fire Department reminds residents how to properly dispose of smoking materials after battling 2 brushfires.

COLUMBIA, MD — The Howard County Fire Department reminds residents to not discard smoking materials into flower pots, mulch, vegetation or out a moving car window and to instead "always use a sturdy ashtray." The warning comes after firefighters battled a large brush fire in Columbia Sunday and another one Saturday.
Firefighters worked to contain the Sunday brush fire that broke out in the area of Woodpark Lane and Murray Hill Road. Crews also fought a different brush fire Saturday in the 13000 block of Triadelphia Mill Road in Dayton.
