COLUMBIA, MD — The Howard County Fire Department reminds residents to not discard smoking materials into flower pots, mulch, vegetation or out a moving car window and to instead "always use a sturdy ashtray." Firefighters worked to contain the Sunday brush fire that broke out in the area of Woodpark Lane and Murray Hill Road. Crews also fought a different brush fire Saturday in the 13000 block of Triadelphia Mill Road in Dayton.
