2 Robberies In Columbia Reported
A machete was one of the weapons used in the robberies, Howard County police reported.

COLUMBIA, MD — Two robberies were reported in Columbia over the weekend. Both cases are still under investigation, police reported Monday.
In one case, a man was robbed at knifepoint on the footpath around Howard Community College. The robbery took place at 9:04 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, police said. The victim was robbed of his cell phone and debit card before the suspects — eight to ten guys — ran away.
A man was robbed by two men, one of whom was armed with a machete, at 7:33 p.m. on July 28. Police said the victim had arranged to meet a female friend in the 10500 block of Jason Lane. But when she arrived, she had brought company with her.
