2024 Hermes Creative Awards Given To Howard County Rec And Parks Marketing Team
Howard County's recreation and parks department marketing team has received several Hermes creative awards.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — The county's department of recreation and parks marketing team has won three 2024 Hermes creative awards along with three honorable mentions. It's the first time Howard County has applied for the awards program and the first time it has won.
"I am always impressed by the creative and thought-provoking work of our employees. I would like to congratulate our recreation and parks’ marketing team for winning a platinum Hermes Creative Award, two gold and three honorable mentions for its stellar photography and digital work, created to market, publicize and show off all of its wonderful programs. To be recognized amongst the top of this years more than 6,500 entries worldwide, is a true honor and speaks volumes to the work you are producing," said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball.
The marketing team received a platinum award, the top-level award, for its PreSchool Adventures 2023 photograph in the categories of print media, photography and people/portrait. In these same categories, the team received its first of two gold awards for its Beginner Ballet for Active Aging Adults photograph. The team scooped up a second gold award for its Get Up. Get Out. Get Active. digital ad campaign in the categories of electronic media, social media, interactive media, digital advertising and digital ad campaign. Finally, the team took home three honorable mention awards for its Save The Native Bees! sign, Howard County Scavenger Hunt logo and Howard County Holiday Mart holiday card in the print media category.

"It is impressive that the marketing team works on over a hundred projects each month and spends the time to make every work memorable. The department is fortunate to have this talented and hard-working team. They ensure that our communication with the public includes a variety of platforms," added Nick Mooneyhan, director of the county's department of recreation and parks.
