$238K Donation Given To Howard Hospital Foundation
Howard County General Hospital's 5th annual Heroes in Health Care fundraiser originally scheduled for June 13 switched to a virtual format.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Howard Hospital Foundation recently received more than $238,000 in sponsorships and donations for Howard County General Hospital’s fifth annual Heroes in Health Care event originally scheduled as an in-person event June 13, then relaunched as a virtual fundraising campaign.
The campaign recognized the hospital’s dedicated staff on the front lines of the pandemic and included a webpage, video and sponsor recognition sign gardens outside the hospital entrance.
“The results of this—our signature fundraising event—are significant when you note that it raised almost 20 percent more than last year without us being able to hold an actual event,” said Jennifer Smith, vice president of Howard Hospital Foundation, which provides philanthropic support to Howard County General Hospital. “We reimagined the event to ensure we accomplished our original goals: raising funds for the hospital, celebrating our staff and sharing the mission and impact of Howard County General Hospital. We are overwhelmed by and grateful for the continued support of our sponsors and the community.”
