2K Backpacks Filled At Stuff The Backpack School Drive Led By Maryland Police Officers

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Beyond the Badge held its second annual Stuff the Backpack event recently and filled 2,195 new backpacks with school supplies to be donated to local schools across Maryland. More than 350 backpacks went to Longfellow Elementary School in Howard County.

Started in 2017 by five Howard County police officers, Beyond the Badge Foundation gives back to the community in different ways, including through this school supply drive. Organizers set a goal of 2,000 stuffed backpacks this summer and they surpassed that goal.

"Thank you to all who donated supplies and stuffed the backpacks, ensuring thousands of kids in the area will be ready for school," the police department noted on its Facebook page.
