3 Charged in Columbia Home Burglaries
Howard County police say suspects may be connected to more.

Howard County police say they have charged three suspects in the burglaries of two Columbia homes and are investigating the possibility that the men were involved in a string of similar crimes since January.
Police said that Colin Sean Hermonstyne, 18, of the 10300 block of Hickory Ridge Road; Devante Rashad Drummond, 18, of the 7000 block of Marabou Court; and a 17-year-old man also from Columbia have been charged with burglary and theft.
Detectives investigating the trio last week saw a burglary in progress in the 8700 block of Carriage Hills Drive.

Hermonstyne and the 17-year-old were arrested as they left the house, according to police.
Police said Drummond was suspected in a February burglary in the 12000 block of Little Patuxent Parkway after he was allegedly selling property that had been stolen from the residence.

Investigators determined the three men are connected and believe they may be accomplices in as many as eight other burglary cases over the last two months, according to police, who said the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed.
Police said Hermonstyne was being held at the Howard County Detention Center on $15,000 bond; Drummond was released on $5,000 bond; and the 17-year-old was put on home detention.
