7 Columbia Area Businesses Burglarized: Police
Cash was stolen from businesses including a bistro, deli and bakery; police said the burglaries are being investigated as related.

COLUMBIA, MD — Seven businesses were burglarized in and around Columbia in one day, according to police. Officials said that the burglaries occurred in a matter of several hours on Friday, Sept. 28.
Columbia Palace Wine & Spirits in the 8700 block of Centre Park Drive was broken into at 1:09 a.m., police said. The door had been forced open, but it was unclear whether anything was taken.
Next, the side door was forced open at Tino's Italian Bistro in the 8700 block of Centre Park Drive. Cash was stolen from the business in the burglary, which occurred at 1:10 a.m.

Coal Fire Pizza in the 5700 block of Richards Valley Road was broken into at 1:38 a.m. The suspect(s) forced the door open and took cash.
Party City in the 6100 block of Old Dobbin Lane was broken into, but it was unclear whether anything was stolen, police said. The door was forced open at 1:44 a.m.

Fulton Station Jewelry & Gifts in the 11800 block of Scaggsville Road was burglarized. Someone broke the front door to the business, but nothing was reported stolen. The burglary happened at 2:47 a.m.
Renata's Tasty Bites was broken into in the 9300 block of Snowden River Parkway. The front glass door was broken, and cash was taken around 4:57 a.m.
NY Deli was burglarized in the 9300 block of Snowden River Parkway at 5:51 a.m. A door was unlocked, which is how the burglar(s) got inside and took cash.
All of the burglaries are being investigated as related, according to Seth Hoffman of the Howard County Police Department.
