3 MD Restaurants Among Best Brunch Spots In US: OpenTable

MARYLAND — Three restaurants in Maryland are among the best in the country for brunch, according to a new list from OpenTable. California had the most restaurants of any state, with 16, followed by New York with 12. Right behind were Illinois and Pennsylvania, each of which had eight restaurants on the list, followed by Florida, Texas and Washington, D.C., with seven.

OpenTable’s list comes right in time for Mother’s Day, which falls on May 12. So if you’re taking mom out for Sunday brunch, the online dining reservation service highlights the top spots that its website generated from diner reviews.

According to OpenTable, 81 percent of diners book brunch reservations for Mother’s Day two weeks in advance.

"On Mother's Day 2018, we seated more diners than any other day that year," OpenTable's Chief Dining Officer Caroline Potter said in a statement, explaining that OpenTable recognizes that "celebrating mom is a priority for our diners."

According to OpenTable, these three eateries in Maryland are among the best for brunch in the country:

• Gertrude’s – Baltimore, Maryland
• Stanford Grill – Columbia, Maryland
• Tower Oaks Lodge – Rockville, Maryland

OpenTable said its list comes from diner reviews collected from March 1, 2018, to Feb. 28, 2019.
