3 Pedestrians Robbed at Gunpoint on Broken Land Parkway: Police
The robberies occurred on two separate days, and police say the crimes appear to be similar.

A woman in a Columbia parking lot was robbed at gunpoint recently in a holdup police say is similar to one that occurred last week.
At 3:20 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 16, a man armed with a gun approached the victim in a parking lot in the 9700 block of Broken Land Parkway and demanded money, according to the Howard County Police Department.
The suspect was described as a “thin and fit” 15 to 17-year-old black man with a dark complexion who was 5’9” to 5’10” tall; weighed approximately 160 pounds; had short cropped hair; and was wearing a red shirt and dark shorts.

Police said a second suspect seen nearby was approximately 16 to 18 years old, 5’10” tall, 170 to 180 pounds and wearing a white shirt and dark shorts.
A similar robbery occurred at 12:20 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 10, in the same area, according to police.

In that robbery, police said two men were walking in the 9700 block of Broken Land Parkway when two men wearing white masks started following them, including one who showed a handgun.
The suspects took the victims’ cell phones and wallets, then left, according to police.
They were described as two black men—one in his 20s who was 5’11” tall, 160 pounds, wearing black clothing and a white mask; the other, in his teens, 5’8” tall, 140 pounds, wearing black clothing and a white mask.
