31 Students Named Carson Scholars

HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Thirty-one Howard County Public School System students have been recognized as 2026 Carson Scholars for "demonstrating outstanding commitment" to academics, leadership and serving others.

The HCPSS honorees include 12 first-time Carson Scholars and 19 Recognized (returning) Scholars.

Established in 1994, the Carson Scholars program recognizes and rewards students in grades 4-11 in the United States who strive for academic excellence (3.75 GPA or higher) and demonstrate a strong commitment to their community.

First-time scholars receive a monetary college scholarship. Recognized Carson Scholars have previously been awarded a Carson scholarship, maintained high academic standards and continued to show strong commitment to their communities.
