3rd Annual Cranksgiving Saturday To Raise Items For People In Need In Howard County

COLUMBIA, MD — The Go Howard program has teamed up with the Downtown Columbia Partnership for the third annual Cranksgiving, a local food drive and a biking event.

Cranksgiving is a national initiative coined as “a food drive on two wheels.” The event is designed to provide active recreation for local residents, raise awareness about Howard County’s bikable pathway system and generate food items for individuals and families in need.

This year’s event will take place Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon at Azlon Plaza, 6100 Merriweather Drive, in Downtown Columbia and will benefit Grassroots Crisis Intervention Center. Participants will bicycle from their homes to the Cranksgiving 2023 drop-off site in the Merriweather District of Downtown Columbia, picking up food items along their route at area grocery stores.
