4 Taken to Hospitals from Broken Land Crash: Police
Officials said a Honda Accord crossed the median on Broken Land Parkway, hitting two other cars.
A Columbia man was seriously injured and three others were taken to area hospitals after a three-vehicle crash on Broken Land Parkway Friday night, according to the Howard County Police Department.
Elijah Walter Jackson, 29, of Columbia was driving on Broken Land Parkway near Hickory Ridge Road at approximately 8:18 p.m. Friday when his 2005 Honda Accord went over the median and hit two other cars, police said.
After being ejected from his vehicle, Jackson was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where he was seriously injured but in stable condition Saturday, according to police.

Officials said Jackson had been headed west on Broken Land Parkway when he crossed the median and hit a 2002 Saturn SL2. Jackson’s vehicle then hit a 2004 Mitsubishi Lancer, according to police.
All of those in the vehicles that were hit were in stable condition, police said.

Saturn driver Jonathan Colin Winkert, 20 of Highland, was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center, where police said he was listed in stable condition. The passenger in the Saturn—Jocelyn Michelle Butrum, 21, of Highland—was in stable condition at Howard County General Hospital, according to police.
Mitsubishi driver Ganzorig Choijil, 56, of Ellicott City, was in stable condition at Howard County General as well, police said.
Police said Broken Land Parkway was closed between Hickory Ridge Road and US 29 until approximately 10 p.m. Friday for investigation and cleanup.
A cause for the collision was not immediately available.
