7 Easter Egg Hunts Around Columbia And Howard County

Adoptable bunnies at Robinson Nature Center, gem mining at Clark's Elioak Farm and other goodies are on tap for Easter around Columbia.

COLUMBIA, MD — Easter is relatively late this year, falling on Sunday, April 21. Last year it was on April 11. The year before that, it came on April 16.

Before the holiday, there are a handful of Easter egg hunts in and around Columbia.

Spring Egg Hunt at Rockburn Elementary School at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Rockburn Elementary School, 6145 Montgomery Road, Elkridge, MD 21075. Rain date is Saturday, April 20. Cost is $4 per child or $11 for three-plus children from the same household. There is no cash accepted. Children will be split into age groups and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Bring your basket. Checks must be sent to Elkridge Adult Athletic Association, 6379 Euclid Avenue, Elkridge, MD 21075. Contact eaaa11@aol.com for more information.

Harvester Baptist Church Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at 9605 Old Annapolis Road, Ellicott City, MD 21042.

Spring Egg Hunt from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, at Gary J. Arthur Community Center, 400 MD Route 97, Cooksville, MD 21723. Preregistration is required; space is limited. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held indoors. Bring your basket. Kids from 2 to 10 years old are $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Call GJACC at 410-313-4840 for info.

Robinson Nature Center Spring Eggstravaganza for Tots from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, April 14, at Robinson Nature Center, 6692 Cedar Lane, Columbia, MD 21044. Egg hunts will be held at 10 and 11 a.m. Spring-themed crafts, music and games will be on tap. Bunnies will be available for adoption through Friends of Rabbits. Adults and children 1 year and older must register to participate. Call 410-313-0400 or register at the center in person.

Historic Savage Mill’s Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 14, at Historic Savage Mill, 8600 Foundry Street, Savage, MD 20763. Cost is $11 and includes basket and Easter bunny visit from noon to 2 p.m. All proceeds go to Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic. Sold out.

St. John Baptist Church Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at St. John Baptist Church, 9055 Tamar Drive, Columbia, MD 21045. This event is free and open to the public; only children 12 and under may participate in the Easter egg hunt.

Clark's Elioak Farm Egg Hunt Weekend from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, and Sunday, April 21. Those 1 to 3 years old and 4 to 6 years old can hunt for eggs all day, with hunts scheduled every half hour, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $7 per person for the farm, with no extra charge for the egg hunt. Kids will line up in the egg hunt area then turn them in for a goodie bag. The petting farm, gem mining and rides will be open for the weekend as well as Monday.
