9/11 Remembrance Wreath Laying Planned For Monday Morning In Garden Of Hope
Join county officials Monday morning at 8:46 a.m. for a 9/11 remembrance wreath laying in Centennial Park's Garden of Hope.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Officials will mark the 22nd anniversary and pay tribute to all who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, including the four victims from Howard County, with a remembrance wreath laying Monday.
“Although it’s been 22 years since that tragic day, we will never forget those who lost their lives, including our four victims from Howard County, and their families whose lives were forever changed,” said Howard County Executive Calvin Ball. “No matter what challenges face our nation, state, and community, we are stronger when we stand together to preserve the ideals of safety, freedom and liberty.”
At 8:46 a.m. – the time the first plane hit the North Tower of the World Trade Center, the county executive will join fellow elected officials and command members from the county police and fire departments and Howard County Sheriff’s Office for a remembrance wreath laying at Centennial Park’s Garden of Hope.
"The garden was dedicated on the first anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy and honors the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice that day and the incredible American spirit that allows us to recover and gives us hope for the future," Ball said.
