Adorable Adoptable Pets Of The Week In Howard County
These pets are searching for their forever homes. They currently are at the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center. Oakland happens to be a very handsome one-year-old Alaskan Husky mix. He's energetic and playful, still a puppy, and should be in a home without young children. Because he's still a young guy, he'll need an owner ready to remind him of his manners. He'll need regular brushing but is ready to lavish love all over his new family.
Remy loves jumping, running, hiking and exploring. If you're an active person, you'll love this 75-pound guy. He's very loyal and affectionate, but will need occasional reminders not to jump - he just can't get close enough to his loved ones. He'd likely do wonderfully in a home with teenagers or no kids as he needs a refresher course on his training. This American pit bull terrier has been neutered, enjoys playing with others and adores snuggling with loved ones.
Seven-year-old Eloise loves to explore her surroundings independently, but also enjoys a good cuddle fest. She arrived at the shelter as a stray, so staff members do not know how she will do with other cats, dogs or children. She isn't a fan of other cats and prefers not to be picked up, so it's probably best if she's the only pet in a home.

Sugar is as sweet as her name implies. At three years old, Sugar got along wonderfully with the children in previous home but wasn't around pets. She'd likely need a slow introduction to any pets in her new home. She loves to be petted and enjoys being cuddled. She's very patient and gentle. Sugar craves scratching posts and will chase down any insects that sneak inside your home.
For more information about adopting these adorable critters or any others currently at the center, call 410-313-2780 or visit the center's site on PetFinder or its Facebook page.
