These pets are searching for their forever homes. They currently are at the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — Meet Patch's Adorable Adoptable Pets of the Week available from the Howard County Animal Control and Adoption Center.
Ghost is an affectionate and loving 2-year-old neutered male bulldog mix. He's a super smart pup but can become overly excited and will benefit from obedience training, which he is required to attend once adopted. Ghost’s new adopter also will be required to own their home and have a fenced in yard in order to become his forever family. Ghost will do best in a dog savvy home where his family can work on his training in and out of the classroom. If there is a resident dog in the home, it is required that you bring them in to meet Ghost to make sure their play styles match. Ghost is an awesome dog that will need an equally awesome family to adopt him.
Applesauce is a beautiful tortoiseshell-colored kitty looking for an adult home where she will be the only pet. This six-year-old cat can be a real sweetheart at times, while other times she prefers to be on her own. She likes to play and enjoys running, jumping and catching a plush toy. When she is feeling cuddly, she loves to be scratched on the top of her head and on her shoulders.

Tippy Toes is a male kitten approximately 5 months old. He is looking for a special home because he is not used to being around people. Tippy Toes would do best in an adult home or a home with older children who understand how to move slowly and quietly around him. He is very curious and if you are quiet, he will come out to explore string toys. He likes to have a box for hiding so he can build up his confident to explore something new. Once he knows you, he will curl up next to you for a cat nap. He also likes to chase bouncing balls.
Sage is a 1-year-old female blue cream tortoiseshell who is simply gorgeous. She is independent at times and friendly all the time. Sage likes attention and enjoys being petted, which sometimes overstimulates her and then she needs a break. She would do best in an adult home or a home with older children who can understand when she wants attention. Once she trusts you, she likes to explore and chase toys. She's quite entertaining when she runs around and jumps up to catch string toys, too. Sage likes to play inside carpet cat tree boxes, too.

Hexa and Tickle are 7-year-old aquatic turtles hoping to find a forever home. Hexa and Tickle would prefer to find a new home together. Aquatic turtles enjoy a diet of turtle pellets, fresh fruits, fresh veggies, crickets and worms. A large tank with a powerful filter would be the best indoor set-up for them.
Charlie is a handsome 11-year-old neutered male cat. Charlie lost his owner when they passed away recently. He was brought to the shelter and Charlie is optimistic that he will find a new home will a human who will continue to shower him with love. Charlie is a sweet boy looking for a home with lots of cozy spots to lounge around. Weighing in at almost 13 pounds, Charlie is a certified hunk and will be the perfect addition to anyone in search of a senior cat.
Colby is a 7-year-old neutered male Pomeranian in search of a new forever home. In his previous home, Colby was not fond of the young children so the owners turned him into the shelter for a second chance. Colby will do best in a quiet adult only home or a home where the children are older. Colby is friendly and laid back once he relaxes. He enjoys spending time in your lap while you work from home or while you’re binge watch your favorite show. Colby will need a patient home, one that will work every day to gain and maintain his trust. Colby could possibly be the missing puzzle piece you have been searching for.
Minnie and Rusty are two female Guinea pig sisters who are looking for a home. They are 3 years old and bonded, always keeping each other company. Minnie and Rusty are curious and comical. They both will come up to you and follow you around. They also enjoy exploring around a safe exercise area. They play in cardboard boxes and they like to search for hidden treats. These two are great little companions and if you can make Guinea pig noises, they will talk to you, too. Minnie is the black, tan and white one and has the cutest bangs fanning across her forehead. Rusty is the tan and rust colored one and her markings are so bright.
Snack Pack is a spunky 8-week-old female kitten. This gutsy girl is not for a novice kitten owner; she will need a cat savvy adult only home. Her forever family will need lots of toys to entertain Snack Pack. Her favorite toys are empty tissue boxes and tunnels she can run through. Snack Pack will benefit from having a rambunctious feline playmate in her new home, one that can help show her the ropes. Snack Pack, as adorable as she is, has the potential to be a project cat and may need a cat behaviorist to correct some of her behaviors.

The shelter currently is open by appointment only, which are scheduled during animal viewing hours Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
